We don’t count the number of logs.

We supply both seasoned and kiln-dried firewood. The logs are seasoned before delivery to you – cut, split and air dried in an open shed to approx. 20% moisture and checked with a moisture meter prior to dispatch.

We also have kiln-dried hardwood and softwood logs, which are dried in a wood-fired kiln to 15% moisture level.

Kiln dried firewood is dried in a wood-fired kiln/ oven to reduce the moisture to 15% or less. Seasoned firewood is dried outdoor in covered sheds for at least 6 months and up to a year or more. the length of time it takes to season wood to 20% moisture or less, depends on how wet the wood is when the tree is cut down. 

Delivery costs up to 30 miles from our depot in Strathaven (the Local Area) are included in the price you see in the online store. 
Delivery costs are calculated when a postcode is entered. there may be a small charge added for deliveries beyond 30 miles. 

Delivery is arranged once an order is paid. We deliver at times to suit the customer between 9.00 am and 9.00 pm.
Weekend deliveries are made by special request.

You can time deliveries out over the winter to make sure you always have a supply of wood logs to suit your needs and storage facilities.

Standard logs are cut to 10″ in length.

Whisky barrel staves are cut to 8 inches long.

Our wood comes from sustainable forests and arboriculture, grown and harvested in Central Scotland in accordance with our ambition to produce top quality eco logs with a minimum environmental impact.  Sustainability is an important aspect of our decision to source these particular wood fuels for your logs.

The forests we mainly source from are managed in accordance with environmental certifications from The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) – an international system for certification of foresting that has the support of many environmental organisations (to ensure chain of custody).

The forests are also an important part of the ecosystem in which we all live. They bind carbon dioxide from the air and give off the oxygen essential to life.
Important facts about the FSC are that the fibres in the product – your logs –  can be traced back through the production process and that they meet the demands set for FSC labelling at all stages.

We deliver your logs by volume which is a fairer and more constant measure than weight.  The weight of wood reduces as it dries out due to the seasoning process.  Heavy wood is wet wood that doesn’t burn well. Buying by volume ensures you and everyone else get the same amount of logs.

The amount that you buy can be influenced by your budget, your storage space and how often you plan to use your stove.

With the option to buy up to 10m3, we think there is a load size to suit most people.  Remember that when stacked logs take up less space.

We also sell handy size nets of logs and kindling and barrow bags.

A. We recommend having your chimney swept and inspected by a professional chimney sweep who is qualified and registered, particularly if you have not used the chimney before, or if it has  been used for a gas fire in the past.
